The real competitor here is the deposit deduction: buildings bill furniture left at the bins back at their hauler's rate plus admin, routinely beating our flat prices — taken out of money you were getting back.

The math of July 31: UT's off-campus leases overwhelmingly end on one date, compressing a year of furniture turnover into about ten days. The buildings — on private hauling, outside Austin's bulk program entirely — respond with bin-corral cameras and deposit bill-backs. The city responds with MoveOutATX donation stations, which have diverted as much as 249 tons of reusable goods in a season — a number that tells you the scale, and also the limits: stations take what students can carry to them, during set dates, in clean condition.
Everything else — the mattress, the futon, the fourth-floor sofa, the apartment that has to be empty by the walkthrough — needs a crew with a truck and a calendar built around the cliff. That's the entire design of this service: pre-staged crews, evening slots, remote parent booking, and donation routing into the same reuse streams the city champions.
May graduation runs the same play at smaller scale. Either wave: photo, flat price, gone before the keys change hands.
Move-out week is Austin's best donation harvest and we route it that way: sound furniture, futons, desks and fridges to Goodwill Central Texas and the Austin Furniture Bank — the same streams MoveOutATX feeds — with receipts to whoever paid.
